General:

Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry with licensed trainer Amy Broadrick, the trainer of Sirius Dawn, after Ms Broadrick failed to present Sirius Dawn for a post-race veterinary examination as directed prior to leaving the racecourse.

3 Ebony Bar Cool- Checked entering the turn out of the back straight and took no further competitive part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.

4 Smooth As Sleek- Checked entering the turn out of the back straight.

2 Spot Me- Checked immediately after the start. Checked in first turn. Checked in turn out of back straight.

2 Harlem Mob- Checked in first turn.

3 Turbo Blaster - Checked in first turn.

7 Sirius Lilly- Severely checked in first turn causing the greyhound to fall and take n o further competitive part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the near hip and was stood down for 7 days.   

8 Belle Bar Cool- Severely checked in first turn.

1 First Slip- Checking in first turn.

2 Spring Axel- Checking in first turn.

4 Spring Cedar- Checking in first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.

5 Daysea's Sam- Checking in first turn.

7 Spring Rowan- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a small laceration near the greyhound’s eye. No stand down period was imposed.

Race 10 - EURO PUMPS GRADE 5 (3) 431m

2 Power Of Bob- Checking in first turn.

4 Monza- Checking in first turn.

5 Larry And Harry- Checking in first turn. Severely checked entering the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the off pin muscle and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

7 Flying Brockie- Checking in first turn. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Judd regarding the greyhound’s actions in the home straight, after reviewing the video replay and hearing the submissions from Mr Judd, stewards deemed Flying Brockie had turned its head inwards towards another runner therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule Flying Brockie was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

Race 11 - TAB GRADE 5 (4) 431m

1 This Time Sara- Checking in first turn. Stewards observed that the greyhounds muzzle had become dislodged during the event.

2 Lawn Ranger- Checking in first turn.

3 Sirius Keith- Checking in first turn.

4 Bob's Bear- Checking in first turn.

7 Master Pele- Checking in first turn.

8 Boxing On- Stewards spoke to trainer Marie Westwood regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Boxing On did make muzzle contact with the greyhound to its outside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 4th offence under this rule Boxing On was suspended from racing at all tracks for 3 months and until the completion of 2 satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

2 Brandy Balloon- Weakened over the later stages of event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for 10 days.

3 Stick Hunter- Checked in back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.

7 Soda Fizz- - Late scratching at 4.41pm due to the greyhound not being presented in the required kennelling time GAR 86(1). Due to the circumstances surrounding the non–presentation trainer, Mr J Catton was fined $200, A 10 day stand down period was imposed for Soda Fizz
