General:

At the direction of Stewards, licensed trainer Ms Amy Broadrick presented Sirius Dawn for a veterinary examination prior to kennelling. No abnormalities were detected.

2 Canoe Paddler- Checked entering first turn. Checked entering back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which

2 Empire Rolls On- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Empire Rolls On with the trainer Ms Marie Westwood and noted her comments.

5 Baronga Breeze- Checked entering the first turn.

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 5 (1) 2 520m

4 Potato Peeler- Severely checked entering the first turn causing the greyhound to fall and take further part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a comminuted facture of the right radius and was humanely euthanised.

5 Tarawi Lee- Checked entering the first turn.

4 Ready To Sting- Checked immediately after the start.

5 Wine Drinker Me- Checked immediately after the start.

6 Lee's Bonus- Shifted out in the home straight. Stewards spoke to trainer Cynthia Suttle regarding Lee’s Bonus’s racing action in the home straight. After hearing evidence, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.

8 Jack's Arrow- Checked in first turn.

Race 7 - FEDERAL MORGAN AT STUD GRADE 5 3 630m

3 Make Noise- Checked entering turn out of the front straight on the first occasion.

6 Underwater- Checked entering the turn out of the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.

8 Spot On Polly- Contacted the running rail entering the turn out of the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside hip support and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

Race 8 - TAB 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 2 520m

2 Tarawi Magic- Checked shortly after the start. Checked entering the first turn.

4 Elisheba- Checked immediately after the start. Checked entering the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a laceration to the near hind toe and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

8 Unique Maurice- Forced wide through first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.

1 Walk Right In- Checked in first turn.

2 Tricky Vision- Checked in first turn.

3 Keep You Posted- Checked in first turn.

5 Lord Yuri- Checked entering the turn out of the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside wrist and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

7 Sally Be Fast- Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Dean Clarson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight, after considering the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Sally Be Fast did shift its attention toward the greyhound racing to its outside therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to pursue the lure. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Sally Be Fast was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
