Race 1 -TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 288m

 

One Stone Boy (7) – A post-race veterinarian examination revealed an offside back muscle injury and was stood down from racing for 14 days.

 

Race 2 -SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 288m

 

Black Max (7) – A post-race veterinarian examination revealed a nearside hip injury and was stood down from racing for 14 days.

 

Race 3 - GOLDEN CHASE AUCTION NOMS CLOSE 12/08/23 MAIDEN HEAT 3 MAIDEN 288m

 

Rosie Wonder (3) – Very slow to begin. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Little Melissa - Late scratching at 8:51am pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to seasonal the greyhound has been stood down for 28 days.

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS MAIDEN HEAT 4 MAIDEN 288m  

 

Cookie Wonder (6) – Very slow to begin. Along the home straight and approaching the winning post visibly eased. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Bruce Wellington regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR124 Failing to purse (first offence) – 28 days stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MAIDEN HEAT 5 MAIDEN 288m

 

Squeaks A Lot (1) – Through the first turn was dragged down checked and then fell. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed an offside foreleg injury and was stood down from racing for 90 days and must complete a veterinarian trial before nominating from any future event. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel.

 

Nickel White (4) A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Tommy Trumpet (5) Proved difficult to box at the start of the race. Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 106(2) advised trainer Bruce Wellington that the greyhound will now be boxed first for future race starts.

 

Race 6 - M & K BUTCHERS MAIDEN HEAT 6 MAIDEN 288m

 

Tuta Panda (5) A post-race veterinarian examination revealed an off hind leg laceration and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

Deep Breaths (6) Extremely slow to begin. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Greg Deering regarding the greyhound’s performance. After considering all available evidence, Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory therefore invoked GAR 129 Unsatisfactory performance the greyhound must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 7 - ROWAN ANDERSON JOURNALIST MAIDEN HEAT 7 MAIDEN 288m

Race 8 - IPSWICH LOCAL MAGAZINE NPW 288m

 

Peking Goose (7) Late scratching at 11:03am due to a weight variation pursuant to GAR 101(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Malcolm Cuneo was fine $100.00 pursuant to GAR 101(3)(b).

 

Farmor Too Come (8) Late scratching at 10:54am due to a weight variation pursuant to GAR 101(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. David Bailey was fine $100.00 pursuant to GAR 101(3)(b).

 

Race 9 - GREYS4PETS NOVICE (1) 288m

 

Borneo Mac (3) - Stewards spoke to trainer Jason Schmidt regarding the improved performance of the greyhound. Mr Schmidt stated the greyhound suffered significant racing interference at its last start at the track. Mr Schmidt also stated this performance was expected also with no racing interference in today’s event. Stewards noted the explanation.
