Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN (1) 431m

7 Tiger Vision – Checked on the first turn then gave ground and trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to the near side hind leg under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN (2) 431m  

6 Topaz Blue – Beaten favourite, checked on the first turn. A post-race urine sample was obtained.

Race 3 - GOLDEN CHASE AUCTION NOMS CLOSE 12/08/23 NPW 431m  

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS NOVICE (1) 431m

4 Mega Man – Checked on the first turn, checked on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

9 She’s So Crazy - Late scratching at 1.42pm pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to illness the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards will require a Veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.

Race 5 - GREYHOUND_DATA.COM NOVICE (2) 431m

1 Tuta Storm – Beaten favourite, slow to begin, checked on the first turn, checked entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

2 Cashed Up Kristy - Marred by another runner entering the home turn, marred and taken off the track by another runner on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

5 Sirius Graham – Turned its head outward making contact with another runner on several occasions entering the home turn, shifted out taking another runner off the track on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Steward’s spoke to trainer Darren Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 123 Marring 2nd offence – 28 days stand down at all tracks and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. Trainer Darren Johnstone advised the greyhound will now be retired.

Race 6 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS BEST 8 431m

3 Duelling Banjos – Severely checked and fell on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

6 Armstrong - Severely checked and fell on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed offside foreleg injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 7 - RED DOG MECHANIX 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 MIXED 4/5 431m

5 Valdos – Severely checked entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near side hind foot under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 21 days.

Race 8 - GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND 4/5 GRADE HEAT 2 MIXED 4/5 431m

2 Showtime Gus – Checked and made contact with the rail on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 9 - GJ WALSH & CO 4/5 GRADE HEAT 3 MIXED 4/5 431m

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 10 - JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS 4/5 GRADE HEAT 4 MIXED 4/5 431m

3 Lula’s Ruby – Beaten favourite, checked on the first turn, brushed the rail entering the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 11 - GOLDEN CHASE AUCTION NOMS CLOSE 12/08/23 MA5 431m

3 Maywyn Ulysses - Late scratching at 6.10pm pursuant to GAR 76(2) Stewards permission.
