Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MDNPW 431m

 

9 Baby Shocker- Momentarily eased in the back straight.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Peter O’Reilly regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay, acting on their own observations and hearing the submissions from Mr O’Reilly, Stewards deemed Baby Shocker had eased and therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue the lure with due commitment. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Baby Shocker was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN (1) 431m

Race 3 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MAIDEN (2) 431m

 

4 Annihilating- Beaten favourite. Slow to begin.

 

7 Looks Good- Checked and forced wide through the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside leg and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS NOVICE (1) 431m

 

No significant racing incidents.

 

 

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOVICE (2) 431m

 

8 Tuta Grizzly- Commenced to shorten stride through the first turn and retired from the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed and injury to the near side back muscle and was stood down from racing for 28 days. Stewards ordered that the greyhound must preform a satisfactory trial before returning to racing.

6 High Performer- Beaten favourite. Checked in the first turn. Stewards noted comments from trainer C Cassidy in that he was satisfied with the greyhound’s performance however when checked shortly after the start and unable to lead, the greyhound’s chances where significantly impacted.
