4 Tokyo’s Gem – Turned it’s head inwards towards another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. A subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offhind limb and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Travis Falls regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to purse by reason of injury – 7 days stand down at all tracks and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
5 Fins Up – Turned it’s head inwards towards another runner soon after the start and again in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Steward’s spoke to trainer representative Chloe Medcalf regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse – 28 days stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
