Race 1 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLAH MAIDEN 2 520m

3 Wandering Tiger – Turned its head inwards and made contact with another runner on multiple occasions in the home straight. Stewards spoke to trainer D Russell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Wandering Tiger did make head contact with the greyhound to its inside and therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Wandering Tiger was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

8 Dragon Master – Gave ground shortly after the start. Tailed the field for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. A second post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainers representative B Wellington regarding the greyhounds performance. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 129, Dragon Master must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Race 2 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY JADE NOVICE 2 520m

7 Cracking Gunn – Eased and took its attention away from the lure shortly after the start taking no further part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer K Hoggan regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from K Hoggan, stewards deemed Cracking Gunn had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Cracking Gunn was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.
