Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 2 520m

2 Gentle Storm – Turned its head to the outside taking its attention away from the lure on multiple occasions in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was subsequently stood down for 7 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr A Webb regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125(a), failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) Gentle Storm must perform a satisfactory trial pursuant to GAR 127(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

1 Bailey Express – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside shoulder and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.

4 Galway Grace – Declared a late scratching @ 3:22pm.

5 No Money Here – Turned its head outwards and made muzzle contact with another runner entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr C Mutton regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that No Money Here did make head contact with the greyhound to its outside and therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule No Money Here was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
