General: Due to starting boxes being marginally slow to open for race 2, all races were rescheduled back two timeslots for maintenance to be conducted.

 

New race times for the meeting were scheduled as follows:

Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 288m

 

5. Stamp Urgent ­­- Into the 1st turn was severely checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside hamstring and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

8. Tommy Trumpet – Through the 1st turn looked awkward in tis action, over the concluding stages eased appearing injured. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside shoulder and was stood down from racing for 14 days.

 

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 288m

 

3. Unlimited Beauty – Late scratching at 9:32am due to weight variation (GAR 101(1). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Ashley Bock was fined $100 acting under GAR 101(3)(b)

No racing incidents of concern.

 

3. Elite Noir – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside hind foot/split webbing and was stood down from racing for 3 days.

 

 

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS MAIDEN HEAT 4 MAIDEN 288m

 

No racing incidents of concern.

 

 

 

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MAIDEN HEAT 5 MAIDEN 288m

 

1. Sirius Jessica – Entering the home straight turned head outwards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer D Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Johnstone, stewards deemed Sirius Jessica had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule Sirius Jessica was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

 

4. Matt Chewer – Into the 1st turn was checked, through the home turn put in an awkward stride becoming unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside shoulder and nearside wrist. The greyhound was stood down from racing for 14 days.

 

 

 

Race 6 - M & K BUTCHERS MAIDEN HEAT 6 MAIDEN 288m

 

6. Stitched Up Jake – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside hock and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

 

 

Race 7 - TREMBATH TYRES MAIDEN HEAT 7 MAIDEN 288m

 

5. I’m Driving – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

 

 

Race 8 - ROWAN ANDERSON JOURNALIST NOVICE (1) 288m

 

No racing incidents of concern.

 

 

 

Race 9 - CHASE NEWSPAPER NOVICE (2) 288m

 

6. Cecil Citizen - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound was suffering from heat stress and was stood down from racing for 7 days

 

7. Black Silver – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside pin and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

 

 

 

Race 10 - TAB NOVICE (3) 288m

 

1. Collector – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside wrist and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

 

 

 

Race 11 - SKY RACING MIXED 2/3 288m

 

3. Spring Rock - A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside dew claw and was stood down from racing for 5 days.

6. In Absentia – In the home straight looked awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside hip support and was stood down from racing for 14 days.

 

7. Kinloch Charm – Near the finish put in an awkward stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound sustained an offside back muscle injury and was stood down from racing for 28 days. Trainer K Galloway stated he would be retiring the greyhound.
