Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN 2 520m

 

3 Carinda Kid – Checked rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

 

5 Jay Fry – Tailed the field for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side back and groin muscle and was subsequently stood down for 21 days.

 

7 Baradine Boy – Checked entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side wrist and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING NOVICE 2 520m

 

2 Hara’s Heidi – Checked entering the first turn. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off fore stopper and was subsequently stood down for 3 days.

4 Cool Hand Rick – Checked entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS MIXED 4/5 2 520m

 

4 Phantom Phoenix – Turned its head outwards and made muzzle contact with a runner to its outside on multiple occasions into and throughout the home straight. Stewards spoke to trainer C Brydon regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Phantom Phoenix did make head contact with the greyhound to its outside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 3rd offence under this rule Phantom Phoenix was suspended from racing at all tracks for 3 months and until the completion of two satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 5 (1) 2 520m

 

1 Bernie Boom – Checked entering the first turn and commenced to give ground. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside back and was subsequently stood down for 42 days. Further, the greyhound must complete a satisfactory veterinary trial prior to returning to racing.

 

5 Ten Pars – Turned its heads outwards and made muzzle contact with the runner to its outside in the home straight. Stewards spoke to trainer E Raeburn regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Ten Pars did make head contact with the greyhound to its outside therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Ten Pars was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 6 - WEST MORETON PET FOODS GRADE 5 (2) 2 520m

Race 7 - GREYHOUND GEAR GRADE 5 3 630m

Race 8 - M & K BUTCHERS 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 2 520m

5 Spring Lionel – Severely checked and fell in the back straight. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

 

7 Little Bullet – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side pin and was subsequently stood down for 10 days.
