4 Wildash Jo Jo – Turned it’s head outwards and made muzzle contact with another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside hindlimb and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Bob Giltinan regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 123 Marring (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

The start was delayed by approximately 5 minutes due to the boxes not opening. All greyhounds were removed to undergo a veterinary examination and were passed fit to start prior to being reloaded.
3 Empire Rolls On – Checked entering the back straight and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside hindlimb and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 60 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
