General:

Prior to kennelling the track was impacted by a severe storm, resulting in damage to some sections of the track. Track staff carried out remedial works to the affected areas to rectify. Following kennelling the Stewards conducted a track inspection and were satisfied the surface was safe for racing.

Race 1 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 1 MAIDEN 520m

3 Pearly Spencer- Checked approaching the first turn and contacted the running rail. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a nearside front leg laceration and was stood down from racing for 5 days.

4 Company You Keep- (Beaton favourite $1.40) Checked off heels immediately after box rise when attempting to shift to the rail. Checked entering the first turn. Contacted the running rail entering the turn out of the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.   

Race 2 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 2 MAIDEN 520m

4 Rupee Magic- Severely checked racing through the turn into the home straight causing the greyhound to fall and take no further competitive part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.  

5 Royal Ralph- Severely checked entering the first turn causing the greyhound to fall and take no further competitive part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a back strain and was stood down from racing for 7 days.

Race 3 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 3 MAIDEN 520m

3 Royal Travis- Severely checked entering the first turn causing the greyhound to fall and take no further part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the nearside shoulder and was stood down from racing for 90 days. Stewards ordered that Royal Travis must complete a satisfactory trial prior to returning the racing.

Race 4 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 4 MAIDEN 520m

6 Big Chief Size- Severely checked entering the first turn causing the greyhound to fall and take no further competitive part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities.

7 Brobdingnagian- Severely checked entering the first turn. Faltered in its action entering the home straight and commenced to give ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the offside calf muscle and flexor tendon. Brobdingnagian was stood down from racing for 60 days and must complete a satisfactory trial.  

Race 5 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 5 MAIDEN 520m

2 Stepney Green- Raced wide through the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the nearside hip and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

Race 6 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 6 MAIDEN 520m

3 Tiger Toast- Contacted the running rail approaching the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down from racing for 21 days.

7 Bailey Express- Performed poorly. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed an injury to the nearside back muscle strain and stood down from racing for 10 days.  

Race 7 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 7 MAIDEN 520m

6 Barfoot Dave- Bumped with Gold Sequani in the back straight. Stewards spoke to Mr John Thompson regarding the incident, after reviewing the available replay footage and considering the submissions put forward by Mr Thompson, Stewards took no further action.

Race 8 - VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL (G3) HEAT 8 MAIDEN 520m

No significant racing incidents.

Race 9 - TAB VENUE MODE NOVICE 520m

8 Gone On Green- Beaton favourite. Forced wide through the first turn. Checked in the back straight and lost ground.

Race 10 - SKY RACING MIXED 4/5 630m

No significant racing incidents.

Race 11 - DOVER & SONS MIXED 4/5 520m

No significant racing incidents.

Race 12 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MIXED 4/5 431m
