Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MDNPW 431m |

4 Carinda Kid – Eased and took its attention away from the lure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side hip and was subsequently stood down for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainer C Brydon regarding the greyhound’s actions in the home straight, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Brydon, stewards deemed Carinda Kid had taken its attention away from the lure and therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule Carinda Kid was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.
5 Azir – Checked rounding the first turn and began to give ground. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side back muscle and was subsequently stood down for 14 days.
6 Wotan Road – Marred by another runner in the home straight.
7 Stitched Up Joe – Turned its head and made muzzle contact with another runner to its inside in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer D Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Stitched Up Joe did make muzzle contact with the greyhound to its inside and therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Stitched Up Joe was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. |

3 Fleet Feet Pete – Turned its head and made muzzle contact to another runner to its outside. Stewards spoke to trainer D Campbell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Fleet Feet Pete did make muzzle contact with the greyhound to its inside and therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 3rd offence under this rule Fleet Feet Pete was suspended from racing at all tracks for 3 months and until the completion of two satisfactory steward’s trials prior to racing next. |

8 San Polo – Turned it heads and made muzzle contact with a runner to its inside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainers representative D Eisel regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that San Polo did make muzzle contact with the greyhound to its inside and therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 3rd offence under this rule San Polo was suspended from racing at all tracks for 3 months and until the completion of two satisfactory steward’s trials prior to racing next. |
