General: Race 5 was declared a no race due to a malfunction with the lure and as a result all races were moved back one time slot to allow for the issue to be rectified.

New race times were amended as follows:

R6 – 5.08pm

R7 – 5.27pm

R8 - 5.50pm

R9 – 6.08pm

R10 – 6.26pm

R11 – 6.51pm

R12 – 7.06pm

Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN 431m

 

1 Pure Penny – Severely checked and fell on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

2 Sirius Cooper – Severely checked and fell on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near side front leg injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

3 Pearl’s A Singer – Severely checked and fell on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN FINAL MAIDEN 431m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 3 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM NOVICE 431m

 

1 Tommy Trouble – Shifted out and gave ground on the home then marred by another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside pin injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

2 Money Ablaze – Turned its head outwards making contact with another runner on several occasion on the home turn and in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Steward’s spoke to trainer David Sloan regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 123 Marring 1st offence – 28 days stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

 

Race 4 - DOVER & SONS GRADE 5 (1) 431m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 5 -GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS BEST 8 431m

 

Race 5 was declared a no race due to a malfunction with the lure.

 

 

Race 6 - ROSEWOOD VETERINARY SERVICE REGIONAL ORIGIN CHALLENGE HEAT 1

OPEN 520m

 

7 Ringbark Rebel – Performed below market expectations. Checked on the first turn, checked entering the back straight, checked entering the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 7 - WEST MORETON PET FOODS REGIONAL ORIGIN CHALLENGE HEAT 2 OPEN 520m

Race 8 - M & K BUTCHERS REGIONAL ORIGIN CHALLENGE HEAT 3 OPEN 520m

Race 9 - GREYHOUND GEAR GRADE 4 431m

 

6 Oak’s Best – Checked on the first turn, checked in the back straight, checked entering the home turn, became unbalanced entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 10 -TREMBATH TYRES GRADE 5 (2) 431m  

 

4 Red Ranger – Severely checked entering the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 11 – TAB GRADE 5 (3) 431m

 

2 Traditional - Late scratching at 6.38pm pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have an offside front leg injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

 

Race 12 - TAB VENUE MODE GRADE 5 (4) 431m

 

5 Sidonia – Severely checked on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
