Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 431m

4 Velocity Elaine – Checked and fell entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 431m

2 Powerful Whiskey – Put in an awkward stride entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side pin and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.

3 Regal Pursuit – Eased approaching the top turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer K Sheddon regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Sheddon, stewards deemed Regal Pursuit had not pursed the lure with due commitment and therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule Regal Pursuit was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

2 Hara’s Nelly – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side shoulder and was subsequently stood down for 14 days.
