Race 1 - TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN (1) 431m

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN (2) 431m

1 Huckleberry Hugo – Turned its head outwards towards another runner in the back straight. Severely checked and fell rounding the top turn. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer D Pearce regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Pearce, stewards deemed Huckleberry Hugo had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 3^rd offence under this rule Huckleberry Hugo was suspended from racing at all tracks for 3 months and until the successful completion of 2 satisfactory steward’s trials.

3 Federal Fury – Made contact with the running rail and was severely checked approaching the top turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

6 Good Chardonnay – Severely checked in the top turn and again entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side wrist and was subsequently stood down for 10 days.

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MIXED 4/5 520m

1 Kushti Bok - Stewards were satisfied with the boxing of the greyhound and removed the boxed first endorsement for future events in accordance with GAR 106(2)(a).

Race 6 - ROSEWOOD VETERINARY SERVICE NMW (1) 520m

8 Daintree Peggy - Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 106(2)(a).

Race 7 - WEST MORETON PET FOODS NMW (2) 520m

Race 8 - M & K BUTCHERS 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 520m

2 Steel Gunn – Checked entering the first turn. Tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off side back muscle and was subsequently stood down for 21 days.

8 Swift Beach – Severely checked and fell entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
