4 Scorching Demon – Checked off heels rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor spike wound to the near-hind leg. No stand down time was given by the on-course veterinarian.
5 Surging Spark – Turned its head outwards towards another runner and visibly eased rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer’s representative Anita Watts regarding the greyhound’s racing manners rounding the home turn. After reviewing the race footage, and hearing submissions from Ms Watts, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue (1st offence) and stood down Surging Spark for 28 days at Ipswich plus the completion of a satisfactory trial. |

6 Lady Steps – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the turn off the back straight. Took several awkward strides in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside wrist and under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.
