4. Sirius Andrew – Entering the home straight turned its head inwards towards the inside runner. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Darren Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR124 Failing to pursue – 28 days stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory Steward’s trial prior to racing next.
6. Famous Last Word – Exiting the first turn was checked. Along the back straight raced wide. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainer Anne Clelland regarding the greyhound’s performance. Anne Clelland stated the early interference, and this was the greyhounds second start back from a spell were factors in the result and will look to nominate the greyhound over a shorter distance in the future. Stewards noted the explanation. |
