General: Due to a mechanical issue with the lure prior to race one, all races were put back three races with race 12 rescheduled to start at 6.23pm.

Race 1 - LADBROKES MATES MODE HOSTED POTS MAIDEN (1) 431m

 

3 Maywyn A Harley – Into the 1st turn was checked, a short distance later made contact with the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside shoulder. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

 

4 Burnt Maru – In the home straight turned its head inwards to the runner to its inside momentarily easing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer’s representative A Clelland regarding the greyhound’s actions in the home straight. After reviewing the video replay and hearing the submissions from Ms Clelland, stewards deemed Burnt Maru had taken its attention away from the lure on therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Burnt Maru was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

 

8 Federal Master – Into the back turn put in an awkward stride, a short distance later was checked, rounding the home turn was checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN (2) 431m

 

5 Church Penny – Into the 1st turn was severely checked falling as a result. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

8 Resilient - Into the 1st turn was severely checked falling as a result. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

3 Quick Zip Franky – Into the 1st turn was severely checked falling as a result. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

7 Smoke Zone – Into the 1st turn was severely checked almost falling. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

8 Javen’s Shot – Into the 1st turn was severely checked almost falling. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

 

 

Race 6 - QUEENSLAND GREYHOUND RACING CLUB MIXED 4/5 431m

 

2 Just A Phase – Into the back turn was checked, from the home turn to the finish eased taking no real competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside hip. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

 

6 Austrian Jewel - Leaving the 1st turn commenced to weaken appearing injured. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its offside groin. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

 

 

 

Race 7 - ROSEWOOD VETERINARY SERVICE MIXED 3/4 431m

 

No racing incidents of concern.

 

 

 

Race 8 - GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 431m

 

4 Sirmione – Through the 1st turn turned its head outwards to the runners to its outside momentarily easing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer R Patching regarding the greyhound’s actions racing through the 1st turn. After reviewing the video replay and hearing the submissions from Mr Patching, stewards deemed Sirmione had taken its attention away from the lure on therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Sirmione was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

 

 

 

Race 9 - JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS GRADE 5 (1) 431m

 

No racing incidents of concern.

 

 

 

Race 10 - LADBROKES PUNTER ASSIST GRADE 5 (2) 431m

No racing incidents of concern.

2 Mega Man – Approaching the back looked awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to its nearside hip. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
