5 Spring Shaquille – Through the first turn was checked. Exiting the first turn appeared awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant injury. Steward’s spoke to trainer representative S Beyers regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to pursue (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
7 My Cujo – Through the home straight turned its head inward towards another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside foreleg shin. Under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was subsequently stood down from racing for 7 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer K Tribe regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 7 days stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
