RACE DAY SUMMARY
After heavy rain commenced in Rockhampton at 7:00am Stewards conducted an inspection of the Callaghan Park Greyhound track at 9:00am, Stewards found the track to extremely wet. After consultation with club officials the decision was made to conduct a further inspection at 11:45am to determine the fate of the meeting. Stewards conducted a further inspection at 11:45am. With this inspection the track was found to be extremely water logged due to continuing heavy rain since 7:00am when over 56mm of rain had been recorded. Due to the state of the track, continuing rain and a large percentage of trainers travelling to the meeting the decision was made to abandon the meeting at 12:00pm. All relevant authorities were duly notified of the decision.
