Rockhampton Greyhounds

General:

·       Stewards declared race 10 as a no race after the lure failed to gain sufficient power and clearance on the field racing around the first turn which resulted in the lead greyhound catching the lure.

 

·       Lure driver Garry Moore was questioned regarding his failure to ensure the lure maintained sufficient clearance of the field. Mr Moore advised that he momentarily lost focus with regard to the positioning of the lead greyhound to the lure and as a consequence was not able to react quick enough to rectify his error. Mr Moore was informed that he is to ensure that at all times when driving the lure, he maintains focus at a level that does not see a repetition of this occurrence.

Race 1 - TAB MAIDEN 407m

 

1 Rosa's Dance – Bumped exiting the turn into the back straight. Checked off heels exiting onto the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hip support strain, and the greyhound has now been stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

2 Garnacho – Bumped exiting the first turn.

 

3 Baby Beau  - Slow to begin.

 

4 Phoebe's Honey – Slow to begin. Exiting onto the front straight shifted out and bumped with another runner.

 

8 Botticelli – Bumped exiting onto the front straight.

 

 

Race 2 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE 407m

 

1 Double Tara – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn. Bumped exiting onto the front straight.

 

2 Tokin Beach – Stumbled at the start losing ground.

 

4 She's So Cosmic – Raced very wide in the back straight.

 

6 Loveless – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn. Bumped exiting onto the front straight. 

 

8 Summer Weeds – Shifted wider in the front straight.

 

 

Race 3 - SKY RACING NOV/M 510m

 

1 Little Hercules – Checked off heels nearing the first turn. Checked off heels entering the back straight.

 

2 Shona's Fury – Bumped with another runner on a number of occasions rounding the first turn. Checked off heels exiting the first turn.

 

3 Prince Danube – Checked on the hind quarters by another runner nearing the first turn.  

 

6 Spot On Thyra – Bumped entering the first turn.

 

7 Swerve – Checked and disadvantaged soon after the start. Bumped entering the first turn.

 

8 Lone Hunter – Bumped soon after the start. Bumped with another runner on a number of occasions rounding the first turn.

 

 

Race 4 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN GRADE 5 (1) 407m

 

1 Kooky Loopy – Hampered near the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards inquired into the actions of the greyhound in the home straight. After taking evidence from the trainer Allan Svensen’s representative Ms Jess Suli and considering the available footage the greyhound was found guilty of failing to pursue the lure with due commitment under GAR124 by turning its head outwards approaching the winning post and shifting out towards other runners. As this was the first offence Kooky Loopy has been stood down from racing at Rockhampton for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory stewards trial. 

 

2 Rosa's Legend – Checked off heels and lost ground exiting the first turn.

 

3 Nanny's Magic – Checked and become unbalanced rounding the first turn.

 

4 Comical Travis – Slow to begin. Hampered near the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a torn nail on the right hind foot with a 10 day stand down issued. Stewards inquired into the racing actions of the greyhound exiting the turn into the front straight and for the remainder of the race. After taking evidence from the trainer, Ken Boody and considering the available footage the greyhound was found guilty of marring another runner under GAR123 by making muzzle contact. As this was the first offence Comical Travis has been stood down from racing at Rockhampton for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory stewards trial. 

 

7 Double Espresso – Slow to begin.

 

8 Systems Down – Bumped and hampered exiting onto the front straight.

 

 

Race 5 - WENDY MULRY TRAVEL GRADE 4 407m

 

1 Striking Stare - Bumped rounding the first turn.

 

2 Burnt Me – Slow to begin.

 

4 Be Like Oliver  - Slow to begin. Bumped rounding the first turn.

 

5 He's Nosey – Bumped rounding the first turn.

 

 

Race 6 - ROCKY FEED & SEED 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 MIXED 4/5 510m

 

1 Baby Thor – Bumped and checked nearing the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a tear to the right hip support and the greyhound was stood down for 14 days.

 

2 Misunderstood – Bumped nearing the first turn. Severely checked off heels and fell rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed exhaustion and a lumbar back strain, and the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

 

4 Erskin Boy – Bumped exiting onto the front straight.

 

7 Deadly Choice – Bumped rounding the first turn. Bumped exiting onto the front straight.

 

 

 

Race 7 - DIPLOCK'S COLLISION REPAIR CENTRE 4/5 GRADE HEAT 2 MIXED 4/5 510m

 

1 Mean Pop – Checked in the back straight.   

 

2 Barooga Franky - Bumped shortly after the start. Checked in the back straight.

 

3 Counter Proposal - Bumped shortly after the start.

 

6 Dad's News – Slow to begin. Eased rounding the first turn near the catching pen before regaining contact with the main body of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards inquired into the racing actions of the greyhound rounding the first turn near the catching pen. After taking evidence from the trainer, Dallas Beckett and considering the available footage the greyhound was found guilty of failing to pursue the lure with due commitment under GAR124 by easing noticeably. As this was the first offence Dad’s News has been stood down from racing at Rockhampton for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory stewards trial. 

 

7 Zipping Mork – Slow to begin. Checked in the back straight.

 

8 Mepunga We – Slow to begin.

 

 

Race 8 - ROCKHAMPTON YOUNG GUNS FINAL OPEN 407m

 

 

2 Be The Best – Slow to begin.

 

4 City Way – Slow to begin.

 

5 San Marco – Checked off heels in the back straight.

 

6 Pitter Patter – Dragged down behind in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery; however, no stand down was issued.  

 

 

Race 9 - NEWSXPRESS RICHARDSON ROAD BEST 8 407m

 

1 Pereira – Bumped nearing the second turn.

 

2 Velocity Cazau  - Bumped nearing the second turn.

 

 

Race 10 - SKY RACING GRADE 5 (2) 407m

 

Stewards declared this event a no race after the lure failed to gain sufficient power and clearance on the field racing around the first turn which resulted in the lead greyhound catching the lure.

1 Hit List – Checked racing around the first turn.

 

4 Mr. Original – Checked racing around the first turn and lost footing. Bumped exiting onto the front straight.

 

6 Dynamic One – Slow to begin.

 

7 Tarawi Opal – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a cut to the nearside back leg which required stitching and a stand down of 14 days was issued.

 

8 Broombrae Blaze – Slow to begin. Checked racing around the first turn. Bumped exiting onto the front straight.

 

 

Race 12 - TAB MA5 407m

 

3 County Mist – Checked of heels exiting the turn into the back straight.

 

8 So You Sing – Shifted wide exiting onto the front straight.
