The start was delayed when the boxes failed to open at the first start attempt due to the manual setting being inadvertently activated. All runners were removed from the starting boxes and underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start.

1 Osprey Phantom - Checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer D Taylor was advised that a warning has been placed against the greyhound for a poor performance.
