The day subsequent to the meeting conducted at the Rockhampton Greyhound Racing Club on Wednesday 27 December 2023 stewards considered written applications as per GAR41(5) from trainers C and J Thompson to have both greyhounds Rybolt and Rosa’s Routine assessed regarding injuries detected at the meeting and stand down periods being issued. Veterinary certificates were provided stating that neither greyhound was suffering any injury, and they were subsequently cleared to race in accordance with the provisions set out in GAR41(6).

Race 1 – TAB MAIDEN 407m

Chase Me Bonnie – Yielded ground over the final 200m to finish at the rear of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a lumbar strain and a 10 day stand down was issued.

Smithereens – (Equal favourite 4^th) Checked around the first turn. Checked racing off the back straight.

Race 2 - SKY RACING NOVICE 407m

Boo Boo Baby – Severely checked racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Exquisite – Checked around the first turn. Checked racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 3 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND GRADE 5 (1) 407m

Springview Bust – Slow to begin. Severely checked racing into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed left hip support strain and a 10 day stand down was issued.

Farmor Entitled – Severely checked racing into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions to the left hind leg with no stand down issued.

Race 4 - DIPLOCK'S COLLISION REPAIR CENTRE GRADE 5 (2) 407m

Cyclone Molly – Checked racing in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 5 - NEWSXPRESS RICHARDSON ROAD GRADE 4 407m

Race 6 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN MIXED 3/4 407m

No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 7 - WENDY MULRY TRAVEL FFA 510m

City Way – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after getting loose in the kennel bay when being retrieved prior to the race and was found to have a minor abrasion to the left hind leg and was cleared to start.

Sober Meredith – Checked soon after the start. Checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery with no stand down issued.

Race 8 - NEW YEARS TROPHY FINAL BEST 8 407m
