Sweet Valentine – (Beaten favourite 4th) A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer D Beckett, when queried in relation to the greyhound giving ground over the final 200m, explained that when leading tonight and recording a fast first split of 8.87 seconds, he felt the early speed took its toll on Sweet Valentine over the concluding stages. The trainer also added that since dislocating a toe in mid-January Sweet Valentine has proved to be difficult in maintaining a consistent level of fitness. |
Race 7 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN GRADE 5 510m |
Prior to all clear, stewards viewed the replays in relation to the lure distance from the lead greyhound entering the back straight. After viewing the available replays, stewards could not be satisfied that the lure distance being marginally greater than usual from the lead greyhound had any material impact on the chances of any runner to compete fairly and all clear was subsequently given. |
