Race Meeting Stewards’ Report

Rockhampton Greyhound Racing Club

Date: Thursday 6th June 2024

Track Condition: (Good)

Weather: (Fine)

Officials

Chairman of Stewards: S Larkins

Stewards: R Liverton, G Wust

General:

Immediately after kennelling stewards investigated a weight discrepancy when Feelin’ Dusty was presented at the scales for race one and recorded a weight of 23.7kg which was 4kg below the most recent recorded weight for a clearance trial on 30 May 2024. It was established that the clearance trial weight of 27.7kg was incorrectly inputted into the data base and official records reflected that the correct weight was 23.7kg. Having been satisfied that an error had occurred and being able to establish the correct weight for the greyhound, Feelin’ Dusty was permitted to start and the weight records adjusted to reflect accuracy.

Race one was delayed when the boxes failed to open at the first attempt. All runners were removed from the starting boxes, underwent a veterinary examination and were cleared of any concerns. All greyhounds were ordered back to the kennelling area while tests were conducted on the starting trip and subsequently stewards ordered that all starts be effected manually. All races were put back one time slot with race 12 to start at 10.42pm
