Geiger – Checked around the first turn. Checked noticeably racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
Feelin’ Dusty – Eased for a few strides close to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration which required suturing and a 10 day stand down was issued. In not taking the matter any further stewards were satisfied that the nature of the injury to the greyhound was the likely cause of it easing close to the finish.
