Race 1 - NEWSXPRESS RICHARDSON ROAD ROCKHAMPTON MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 1 MAIDEN 407m

Lukewarm – Checked off heels leaving the back straight.

Pelorus – Checked around the first turn. Checked off the back straight. Checked rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strained left hip support and was stood down from racing for 10 days. Stewards inquired into the greyhound’s actions approaching the home turn and considering the available replays, submissions from trainers representative C Thompson, stewards could not be satisfied that the greyhound’s actions were in breach of any rules particularly taking into account the post-race veterinary findings.

Race 2 - SKY RACING ROCKHAMPTON MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 2 MAIDEN 407m

Disciplinarian – Dragged down from behind in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed grazes to both hind legs.

Race 3 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE 407m

No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 4 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MIXED 4/5 407m

No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 5 - TAB 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 407m

Suppose – Severely checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 6 - KEN BOODY BEST 8 407m

More peaches – Checked in the back straight. Checked and appeared to be dragged down racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 7 - GARY WEEDING GRADE 5 (1) 510m

No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 8 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN GRADE 5 (2) 510m

No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 9 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MIXED 3/4 407m

When preceding to the track prior to the start, the lead on Velocity Cazau broke, and immediately thereafter, Oil Well broke its collar resulting in both greyhounds escaping their handlers. Both greyhounds were recaptured and cleared to start after undergoing a veterinary examination. The gear used on both greyhounds was inspected and displayed no visual signs of wear and tear that were considered to be of concern.

Race 10 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND GRADE 5 (1) 407m

Earn Silk (beaten favourite) – Severely checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 11 - SKY RACING GRADE 5 (2) 407m

Regal Beach – Become very awkward in its action down the back straight and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a sacrum strain and was stood down from racing for 21 days.

Race 12 - NEWSXPRESS RICHARDSON ROAD GRADE 5 (3) 407m

More Energy – Severely checked and fell in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right hind leg injury and was stood down from racing for 60 days and a veterinary trial.

Zambora Beach – Severely checked in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer K Suli was questioned on the racing manners of the greyhound. After considering all available evidence, stewards were satisfied that the greyhound had marred the running of Circle The Sea in the home straight and has been stood down from racing for 28 days at all tracks and until the completion of a steward’s trial as this was the second offence for the greyhound.
