Subsequent to the late scratching of Baytown Sonny from the Rockhampton meeting on 05 August 2024, stewards received a veterinary report confirming a pin muscle injury and the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days from the meeting date.

Race 1 - THE REGGIES PODCAST MAIDEN 407m

Get’em Bud – Bumped and checked entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Pelorus – Checked soon after the start. Severely checked around the first turn. Checked in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Disciplinarian – Checked entering the home straight.

Jilliby Shaun – Severely checked racing into the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 2 - TAB NOVICE 407m

Lissy’s Gem – (Beaten favourite 5^th) Checked around the first turn. Checked wide in the home straight.

Race 3 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 5 (1) 407m

Sonic Grove – Slow to begin. Faltered in its action in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed sprains to both front wrists and a 14 day stand down was issued.

Race 4 - GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND MIXED 3/4 407m

Exquisite – (Beaten favourite 4^th) Checked around the first turn.

Race 5 - NEWSXPRESS RICHARDSON ROAD 0-4 WINS HEAT 1 0-4 WINS 510m

Gardell – Deviated its attention away from the lure around the first turn by turning its head out and shifted out noticeably. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards inquired into the greyhounds manners racing around the first turn and after considering submissions from handler D Taylor on behalf of the trainer, the available replays and stewards own observations, stewards were satisfied that Gardell had failed to pursue the lure with due commitment around the first turn and under GAR124(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 28 days and a satisfactory stewards trial for a first offence.

Race 6 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN 0-4 WINS HEAT 2 0-4 WINS 510m

Race 7 - WENDY MULRY TRAVEL GRADE 5 (2) 407m

Race 8 - SKY RACING PATHWAYS FINAL 5PW 407m

Blake’s John – Severely checked and fell on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Heffernan Bale – Severely checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 10 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MA5 407m

Moonlit Mandy – Severely checked racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed cramping and as such the greyhound is stood down from racing pending a satisfactory stewards trial.
