Race 3 - THE VARIETY LEGENDS CHAMPIONS ROCKHAMPTON YOUNG GUNS HEAT 1

OPEN 407m

2.Tijuana Twinkle – Checked off the heels of another runner entering the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

8.Abode’s Trilogy – Deviated attention from the lure towards a runner on the inside but did not make muzzle contact. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer representative Amber Boody regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Rockhampton and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 4 - THE VARIETY VICTORIA HALL OF FAME ROCKHAMPTON YOUNG GUNS HEAT 2

OPEN 407m

3.Salute – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after it’s muzzle was dislodged during the running of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

4.Midnight Ranger – Severely checked rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings

Race 5 - THE VERY NOUNISH GRADE 5 407m

9.Gallifrey – Checked and faulted in its actions and gave ground entering the second turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed nearside wrist injury under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 28 days and must complete a veterinary clearance trial prior to racing next.

Race 6 - THE VARIETY BASH VOLUNTEERS TRIBUTE MIXED 4/5 407m

· No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 7 - VALLEY MAINTENANCE SERVICE MIXED 3/4 407m

2. Me And Fred - Stewards spoke to trainer Juanita Thompson regarding preparation for race 7 Mrs Thompson was issued a fine of $100.00 acting under GAR 156(f)(ii) for being negligent in that she presented the greyhound Me And Fred with the incorrect rug prior to the event.

Race 8 - DID CAR 2226 MAKE IT GRADE 5 510m

1. Scarsdale – Faulted in its actions on the first turn. Checked, faulted in its actions and gave ground entering the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed offside hind quadricep muscle injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.
