Following the running of race 9 all races were put back one race time due to a mechanical issue with the tractor used to prepare the track with the last race to be run at

Race 1 - DYNAMIC ELECTRICAL MAIDEN 407m

Aston Supreme – Galloped on the heels of Walk Off Birdie approaching the home turn and was severely checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Walk Off Birdie – Dragged down from behind and severely checked approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 2 - DYNAMIC REFRIGERATION NOVICE 407m

Race 3 - REGGIES PODCAST BEST 8 407m

No matters of concern to stewards.

Race 4 - CHRISTMAS CUP HEAT 1 OPEN 510m

Canya Captivate – Led, before yielding some ground over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer G Agius advised that it was the greyhounds first start over this type of distance since joining his kennel and was of the view significant fitness benefit would be derived from the run.

Race 5 - CHRISTMAS CUP HEAT 2 OPEN 510m

Race 6 - CHRISTMAS GIFT HEAT 1 MIXED 4/5 407m

Race 7 - CHRISTMAS GIFT HEAT 2 MIXED 4/5 407m

Canya Atomic – Checked noticeably around the first turn before finishing off strongly into fourth placing.

Race 8 - CHRISTMAS GIFT HEAT 3 MIXED 4/5 407m

Race 9 - CHRISTMAS GIFT HEAT 4 MIXED 4/5 407m

Imprisonment – Severely checked around the first turn and appeared to hit the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed shoulder soreness and a 5 day stand down was issued.

Canya Adrenaline – Faltered racing in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left hind leg and the greyhound was stood down for 60 days and until the completion of a satisfactory veterinary clearance trial.

Race 10 - CHRISTMAS GIFT HEAT 5 MIXED 4/5 407m

Race 11 - CHRISTMAS GIFT HEAT 6 MIXED 4/5 407m

Zambora Beach – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards inquired into the greyhounds’ actions in the home straight and after considering submissions from trainers representative A Suli, stewards were satisfied that the greyhound had turned its head outwards in the home straight and then marred the running of Flat Broke by making head or muzzle contact with that runner. Zambora Beach has been stood down for 28 days at all and until the completion of a satisfactory stewards trial for a second offence under GAR123.
