Rockhampton 1 January 2025.

Bilinga Beach, which was found to be suffering an injury following the running of race 5, was presented at this evenings meeting and a veterinary examination revealed no areas of concern and as such the original penalty of a 28 day stand down and the completion of a veterinary clearance trial was revoked and substituted with a 10 day stand down effective from 1 January 2025.

Race 1 - DYNAMIC ELECTRICAL ROCKHAMPTON MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 1 MAIDEN 407m

Paw Alley – Checked soon after the start. Checked in the back straight. Checked racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery with no other apparent abnormalities detected.

Rosa’s Rebel - Checked around the first turn. Checked in the back straight. Checked racing off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain to the right tricep and a 10 day stand down was issued.

Race 2 - DYNAMIC REFRIGERATION ROCKHAMPTON MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 2 MAIDEN 407

Race 3 - REGGIES PODCAST NOVICE 407m

Race 4 - A2Z DENTAL ROCKHAMPTON MA5 407m

Burnt Me – Checked from behind racing in the back straight and lost significant ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right back muscle strain and 21 day stand down was issued.

Race 5 - PARKHURST QUALITY MEATS MIXED 4/5 407m

Dynamic One – Suffered interference in the catching pen. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right wrist sprain and a 14 day stand down was issued.

Race 6 - COUNTRY CUP HEAT 1 OPEN 510m

Oorah – Slow to begin. Severely checked and fell around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right tricep strain and a 10 day stand down was issued.

Out The Bottle – Slow to begin. Severely checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a lower back strain and a 10 day stand down was issued.

Race 7 - COUNTRY CUP HEAT 2 OPEN 510m

Race 8 - COUNTRY CUP HEAT 3 OPEN 510m

No matters pf concern to stewards.

Race 9 - LOVE A GREYHOUND BEST 8 407m

Penny Daze – Checked racing off the back straight. Checked approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a spike wound to the left hind leg and a 10 day stand down was issued.

Race 10 - SKY RACING GRADE 4 407m

Infamous – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed a minor graze to the tail and was cleared to start.

Swerve – Trainer M Bube explained that he attributed the seemingly improved performance to the greyhound enduring more luck this evening than it has in its most recent starts and dropping back to the shorter distance of 407m may have also been advantageous.

Abode’s Trilogy – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards inquired into the greyhound’s actions upon entering the home straight. After considering their own observations, the available replays and submissions from trainers representative Mrs A Boody, stewards were satisfied that Abode’s Trilogy turned its head towards Farmor Elected entering the home straight and under GAR 124(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 28 days at all tracks and until the completion of a satisfactory trial for a second offence.

Race 11 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN GRADE 5 (1) 407m

Canya Phoenix – Checked around the first turn. Checked in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor grazes to the hind legs and a poor post-race recovery however, no stand down was issued.

Race 12 - GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND GRADE 5 (2) 407m

No matters of concern to stewards.
