Race 1 - DYNAMIC ELECTRICAL MAIDEN 407m

Rosa’s Kylie – Very slow to begin. As stewards were unable to ascertain whether the greyhound had turned in the boxes the benefit of doubt was given however a warning was placed against the starting manners of Rosa’s Kylie. In adopting this approach, stewards were mindful that this was only the second race start for the greyhound.

Race 2 - DYNAMIC REFRIGERATION NOVICE 407m

Diamantina Opal – Severely checked around the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a left bicep strain and a 10 day stand down was issued.

Selective Style – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards inquired into the actions racing towards the finish. After considering the available replays, submissions from trainer J Thompson and acting on their own observations, stewards were satisfied that Selective Style had deviated its attention away from the lure by turning its head inwards for a number of strides towards Kerri Beach close to the finish and therefore failed to pursue the lure with due commitment. Acting under the provisions of GAR124(1) for a first offence, the greyhound has been stood down for 28 days at Rockhampton and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
