VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

 

Race 1             WALLABY JACK

Race 9             ANGEL’S BOY                     Injured in running, off side hock, humanely euthanased

 

GENERAL

 

The commencement of the race meeting was delayed to enable track staff to carry out repairs to the lure. Consequently the starting times of all races on the programme were put back one time slot and Race 1 was run at 7:35pm.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 380m

WALLABY JACK was slowly into stride. BUCKAROO SUE and ELUSIVE DIVA both lost ground when tightened for running in the back straight. Approaching the 1st turn WALLABY JACK shifted out checking the running of BLUEFIRE CHALICE which lost ground. Soon after FIVE STARS shifted in severely checking the running of WALLABY JACK which lost significant ground and as a result took no further competitive part in the event. ELUSIVE DIVA and BLUEFIRE CHALICE came together on straightening. Both greyhounds were inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound WALLABY JACK was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were revealed. 

 

Race 2 – Novice 380m

LONESOME MAX was slowly away. DEMORIC FIT and MR. CRUSTACEAN both lost significant ground when tightened for running in the back straight. Through the 1st turn BEACH FRONT shifted out across the heels of BRIGHT REBEL and was inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound  DEMORIC FIT was vetted post race and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side fore tricep and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 380m

The greyhound WILDASH PLUMBOB was a late withdrawal at 2:41pm due to a near side hind foot injury. Trainer Ms I Camp was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to nominating.

 

WILLIAM MAC was best to begin. Soon after the start KING ROCKSTAR shifted in inconveniencing the running of KENNY’S AROMA. Approaching the 1st turn KING ROCKSTAR shifted in severely checking the running of FEAR NO HURDLE which lost significant ground, and in doing so raced wide taking KENNY’S AROMA wider on the track.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 380m

VAPOUR FLIGHT and GUNNADOO SECRET both began well. BELIMBA HUSTLER was slowly away. Approaching the 1st turn MAYWYN’S JOSH and I’M HOT came together. Both greyhounds became unbalanced and lost ground. PURE BEKIM raced wide for the majority of the event.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 380m

Even start. Soon after start ON DECK lost ground when tightened for running between PACIFIC SPRING and WILDASH MONTE which was shifting in. MISS GRAND THEFT and ON DECK were racing tight and bumping at the home turn. Both greyhounds were inconvenienced. PACIFIC SPRING and WILDASH MONTE both raced wide for the majority of the event.

 

Race 6 – 4th Grade 380m

SUPERMAC was best to begin. WINFIELD ROCKY and IMPOSING SIND were both slowly into stride. LISTEN NOW was slowly away. Through the 1st turn EMINEM BLUE GIRL shifted out onto the running of GUNNADOO RACER which lost ground. EMINEM BLUE GIRL raced wide at the home turn and down the running.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 498m

SLEEPY MIME was best to begin. KNOCK THE TOP and PRIVATE TALK were both slowly away. STARZAR GOLD lost ground approaching the 1st turn when tightened for running between MAYWYNS MARTY and REECY GOGOLAC which was shifting in. Through the top turn PRIVATE TALK shifted in severely checking the running of EUNICE LILLIAN which lost significant ground. PRIVATE TALK and STARZAR GOLD which were following were also inconvenienced.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 380m

SINDARYN was best to begin. Soon after the start ALL BUT CENTRE was inconvenienced when tightened for running between ZAMBEZI ROCK and CUT OUT PASS which was shifting in. Approaching the 1st turn ZAMBEZI ROCK shifted out checking the running of PHOTO BOOTH.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 380m

VAR MONTE CARLO, BOLD DEBREE and BELLE SIND were all slowly into stride. Soon after the start ANGEL’S BOY lost ground when tightened for running between VAR MONTE CARLO and BELLE SIND which was shifting in. Approaching the 1st turn BELLE SIND shifted in severely checking the running of VAR MONTE CARLO which lost ground. Approaching the home turn VAR MONTE CARLO improved onto the hindquarters of ANGEL’S BOY dragging that greyhound down from behind. Both greyhounds were severely checked in this incident.

 

The greyhound ANGEL’S BOY was vetted post race and found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock an was humanely euthanased.
