ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 380M PEARSON PRIDE and ALWAYS A DIVA were the best to begin. CURRIED SAUSAGE was marginally slow to begin. NORTHUMBERLAND was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight. CHARLOTTE’S MISS checked off the heels of RUN ZAHLI and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight. NORTHUMBERLAND shifted out to race wide into the front straight bumping ALWAYS A DIVA. ALWAYS A DIVA and NORTHUMBERLAND raced wide in the home straight. |

TOWNSVILLE GREYHOUND OWNERS & TRAINERS NOVICE 380M Trainer J. Schafer was fined $50 under the provisions of GAR 39 for presenting JASPER ROSE to race with a weight variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing. JASPER ROSE was subsequently a late scratching from the race.
Even start. COUGAR KEITH was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight. PERFECT SISTER checked off the heels of SWIFT BERNARD in the back straight resulting in SWIFT BERNARD becoming unbalanced and shifting out bumping heavily with RHONDA’S SEA causing interference to KNOCKA SHEEHAN and ABRAHAM KEEPING causing ABRAHAM KEEPING to fall and take no further part in the race. As a result of the incident the majority of the field suffered interference. SWIFT BERNARD raced wide into the home straight.

BOHLE BARN 5th GRADE 380M TEMNICK and I’M A GIFT were the best to begin. I’M A GIFT and CHIEF START bumped prior to turning into the front straight. I’M A GIFT raced wide in the home straight. |

JEPSON MEDIA 3/4th GRADE 498M LIBERTY LEGS was the best to begin. POISED TO POUNCE and KERRIE’S A MINX were slow to begin. PEPPA PIG CLOUD and DEBORAH ROSE bumped on the first turn after the start resulting in KERRIE’S A MINX and POISED TO POUNCE being inconvenienced. KERRIE’S A MINX, PEPPA PIG CLOUD and DEBORAH ROSE bumped prior to entering the back straight resulting in the three greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground. POISED TO POUNCE checked across the heels of KERRIE’S A MINX and lost ground entering the back straight. KERRIE’S A MINX checked off the heels of PIPPA PIG CLOUD and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

TOWNSVILLE SHOW SOCIETY 5th GRADE HEAT 1 498M CABARET TONIGHT was the best to begin. SA EL CHAPPO crossed from a wide position on the first turn after the start tightening GUNNADOO COBRA in on to CRUSHED ICE on to NICE NURSE FRANK on to ZAMBEZI GIRL resulting in the four greyhounds being checked and losing ground. FARMOR BRING IT checked off GUNNADOO COBRA and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to NICE NURSE FRANK. GUNNADOO COBRA raced wide into the home straight.
Stewards questioned the racing manners of GUNNADOO COBRA in particular approaching the finish. A veterinary inspection of the greyhound revealed an off hind muscle injury. Subsequently, Stewards acting under the provision of GAR 69B stood GUNNADOO COBRA down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial for failing to pursue with injury.

GARRARD’S HORSE & HOUND 5th GRADE HEAT 2 498M NEVILLE ROSE was the best to begin. BON ECHO checked off VELOCITY KYZON and lost ground on the first turn after the start. BON ECHO checked off RUBY’S MAGIC and lost ground entering the back straight. RHONDA’S DYNO raced wide in the back straight and again in the home straight.

VELOCITY AIM and STREAKS OF GOLD were the best to begin. MADADAM checked off STREAKS OF GOLD and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to VELOCITY AIM. MADAGASTER checked off COSMIC MARLOW and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to FARMOR GREENIES and MAGIC CHAOS. VELOCITY AIM checked off the heels of MACADAM and lost ground prior to turning into the front straight.

RAZOR ROSE was the best to begin. KEZZA’S SPIRIT was slow into stride as the star was effected. FACE TIME checked off WHAT’S FOREVER and lost some ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in FARMOR TO DO being inconvenienced. RAZOR ROSE raced wide in the home straight. WHAT’S FOREVER checked off the heels of BIG BAD BLOCKER just prior to the finish.
