slow to begin. ZIPPING QUINT checked
off FLYING MOZZIE and fell on the turn out of the back straight. |

BUTCH RICHARDS NOVICE
380M Even start.
TOP TELLER was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after
the start. NOT A WORD and ALWAYS A
DIVA bumped and were tightened for racing room in the back straight resulting
in both greyhounds losing ground. PEARSON
PRIDE checked off GOGO MOJO and lost ground approaching the turn out of the
back straight. ALWAYS A DIVA checked
off ELITE AND BLACK and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight
resulting in interference to WILDASH DIDDY.
NOT A WORD improved on to the heels of PEARSON PRIDE in the front
straight resulting in both greyhounds losing ground. |

BECAUSE was a late scratching at 7:10pm on veterinary advice. RHONDA’S
SEA was the best to begin. COLLISION
COURSE was slow to begin. STARZAR GOLD
and KNOCKIN’ BLUE bumped in the back straight resulting in both greyhounds
losing ground. COLLISION COURSE
checked off SMOOTH FLAME and lost ground in the back straight. SIR REGINALD and EL MALAMUTE bumped in the
front straight. |

ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE 5th GRADE 380M Even start with SUPERFORMANCE slow to begin. COOPER’S LESSON and OLD MATERIAL were
tightened for racing room and lost round in the back straight. COOPER’S LESSON lost ground approaching the
turn out of the back straight and continued to lose ground taking no further
competitive part in the race. A
veterinary inspection of the greyhound revealed an off hind muscle injury. SKY BOND checked off SLOW DANCER and lost
considerable ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in
interference to OLD MATERIAL. SCOTT
SPEED raced wide in the home straight. |

& DESMA HOVI 4th GRADE 380M WORLD’S GREATEST and I’M ALICE were the best
to begin. FROM THE TAP was slow to
begin. BLACK MASS checked off FLYING
MAGNUM and lost ground in the back straight.
AMY’S ELITE checked off VELOCITY LAVINIA and lost ground in the back
straight resulting in interference to BLACK MASS. AMY’S ELITE and BLACK MASS bumped on the
turn out of the back straight resulting in both greyhounds losing ground. VELOCITY LAVINIA checked across the heels
of FLYING MAGNUM on the turn out of the back straight resulting in both
greyhounds losing ground. ATOMIC OPIE
and I’M ALICE bumped on the turn into the front straight resulting in ATOMIC
OPIE becoming unbalanced and losing ground. |

ALL RIG LIFTING 5th GRADE FINAL 498M The boxes failed to open on the first
occasion. All greyhounds were removed
from the boxes and inspected by the veterinarian who passed all fit to
start. A start was effected on the
second occasion. BRUTON MISS was the best to begin. DIAMOND FIESTA, PERFECT SISTER and NEVILLE
ROSE all bumped heavily shortly after the start resulting in the three
greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground. DIAMOND FIESTA raced wide in the back
straight and again in the front straight. |

AUSTRALIA DAY TROPHY
FINAL 498M Trainer M. Hickmott
was fined $50 under the provisions of GAR 86(o) negligent for presenting ASA
EL CHAPPO to race with the incorrect rug. Even start with IT’S HIS JOB slow to begin
and ASA EL CHAPPO marginally slow to begin.
SPUDNUT shifted in on the turn into the back straight tightening
PROSPECT resulting in interference to ASA ABBANDANDO who lost considerable
ground causing interference to ASA EL CHAPPO, GLENALLON ZULU and IT’S HIS
JOB. GLENALLON ZULU checked off ASA
ABBANDANDO and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight. BURNER BANT checked across the heels of
PROSPECT in the front straight. ASA
ABBANDANDO raced wide in the front straight. |

STREET BOY and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight. TOMMY MARKTU checked off BACK STREET BOY
and lost ground prior to turning into the front straight. RUBY’S MAGIC and TOMMY MARKTU bumped on the
turn into the front straight resulting in some inconvenience to both
greyhounds. |

the incorrect rug. EASY OFF was the best to begin. CABARET TONIGHT checked off ZIPPING JOKER
and lost ground prior to turning out of the back straight. ZIPPING JOKER checked off ZIPPER IT MACCA
on the turn out of the back straight resulting in ZIPPING JOKER becoming
unbalanced shifting out causing interference to MACADAM then bumping BRIGHT
REBEL who fell as a result. |
