RACE REPORTS

1.

RQ MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 1 380M

DANCING CHO and VOODOO LANE were best to begin. Approaching the turn out of the back straight MALI MOO, BELLA SENORITA, ARTHUR’S STEVIE and ZIPPING QUINT were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees. DANCING CHO, which was trailing checked outwards to avoid those runners.

RQ MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 2 380M

LORD LUCAS was marginally slow to begin. In the back straight MAPPER’S DELIGHT was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Shortly after OILS AIN’T OILS was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Approaching the turn out of the back straight WINNIE’S ROSE was tightened for room and checked. LORD LUCAS which was trailing was checked as a consequence. Through the first turn WINNIE’S ROSE checked off heels. Rounding the turn into the front straight MAPPER’S DELIGHT was tightened for room and checked. In the front straight OILS AIN’T OILS raced wide.

RQ MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 3 380M

MR. MERVE was best to begin with DANCING MELIA slowly away. In the back straight COMMANCHE, SILVER MOUSE, NO NOT ME and ARTS were tightened for room resulting in COMMANCHE, SILVER MOUSE and NO NOT ME to be checked and ARTS to be severely checked. Entering the turn out of the back straight SILVER MOUSE contacted the hind quarters of ARTS resulting in SILVER MOUSE to be checked and ARTS to be severely checked. Rounding the turn and through the front straight DYLAN’S PICK was wide.

 

The greyhound ARTS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Post-meeting it was established that the greyhound MR. MERVE was ineligible to compete in this event, when at kennelling, having a weight variation in excess of 2 kilograms since its previous start on 11 March 2017 (49 days). Acting under GAR 64, stewards disqualified MR. MERVE from this event and placings were amended accordingly.

ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE NOVICE 380M

PALE FACE SCOTCH was best to begin. RIFF was marginally slow to begin. Approaching the turn out of the back straight PREMIER HONEY was tightened for room and checked. Entering the turn out of the back straight QUEEN OF CAWDOR collided with PARTIAL DEFENCE resulting in that runner to be severely checked.

MCGUIRES RACING 4/5th GRADE HEAT 1 380M

PERFECT SISTER and BROTHER BOB were slow to begin. Approaching the turn out of the back straight BACK STREET BOY improved onto the heels of SMOOTH FLAME resulting in both runners to be checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight BURNER BANT checked off heels.

TOWN AUTOMATICS 4/5TH GRADE HEAT 2 380M

MAYWYN ACCOLADES and GO GWAN were marginally slow to begin. In the back straight JASPER ROSE, GO GWAN and EASY OFF were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees. Through the turn into the front straight EL MAGICO was tightened for room and checked. SCOTTIE’S GIRL which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the front straight JASPER ROSE and SCOTTIE’S GIRL bumped on several occasions resulting in the SCOTTIE’S GIRL to be hampered.

 

The greyhound EASY OFF underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

TELLA PHOTOGRAPHY 4/5th GRADE 498M

PASS THE AMMO and MUTLEY ON FRIDAY were marginally slow to begin. Entering the first turn CRUSHED ICE was tightened for room and checked. Through the first turn NORTHUMBERLAND was tightened for room and checked. PASS THE AMMO and MUTLEY ON FRIDAY which were trailing were hampered as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the back straight NORTHUMBERLAND was tightened for room and severely checked. In the back straight MUTLEY ON FRIDAY was wide. Entering the first turn TANGI MION and PASS THE AMMO collided resulting in both runners to be severely checked. Shortly after STREAKS OF GOLD was tightened for room, severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound STREAKS OF GOLD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

MADAGASTER was best to begin. Entering the turn out of the back straight FACE TIME checked off heels.

WATERS AGRASIVE BLASTING 4/5th GRADE HEAT 3 380M

The event was declared a no race when CHIPS AHOY, who was leading the field, came level with the lure and eased momentarily. Runners trailing were subsequently affected.

WEE WIN KENNELS 4/5th GRADE HEAT 4 380M

The start of the event was delayed due to power failure to the lure. The race start time was amended to 10:38pm.

 

NOT A WORD, DIAMOND FIESTA, SENORITA REGINA and I’M ALICE were best to begin. Entering first turn UNIVERSAL ONE was tightened for room and checked. Through first turn DIAMOND FIESTA and MISS LARDIE DA collided resulting in both runners to be checked. Shortly after DIAMOND FIESTA checked off heels.

 

The greyhound UNIVERSAL ONE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the neck and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

ROSEY OLSEN 4/5th GRADE HEAT 5 380M

Race start time amended to 10:55pm.

 

The greyhound ZIPPING CARLTON underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Even start. Shortly after the start TOES and RONRAY FLAME were tightened for room and checked. In the back straight KORCHECK contacted the hind quarters of VAL’S MAGIC resulting in both runners to be severely checked. Entering the first turn KORCHECK and VAL’S MAGIC collided resulting in both runners to be severely checked.

 

The greyhound VAL’S MAGIC underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
