Stewards Trial 1 – 380m The greyhound MR.
MERVE performed a satisfactory reweigh trial over the distance of 380m in a
time of 22.36 and at a weight of 32.9. |

MEATS TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 380M Start of the
event was delayed due to an interstate harness race. DANCING CHO
and DANCING MELIA were marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start
STEVE’S LAST and MALI MOO were tightened for room
and checked. Approaching the turn, out of the back straight, FLYING MOZZIE was tightened for room and checked. DANCING CHO which was trailing, improved onto that runners heels,
resulting in both runners to be severely checked and lose considerable
ground. Shortly after STEVE’S LAST and MALI MOO bumped resulting in runners to be
hampered. The
greyhound FLYING MOZZIE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no
apparent injuries were found. |

RQ MAIDEN 1000 FINAL 380M BELLE’S HAWKE
and MAYWYN’S ROCKER were best to begin. Entering the turn out of the back
straight DYLAN’S PICK contacted the hindquarters of NO NOT ME resulting in
both runners to be severely checked and shift out
wide on the turn. WINNIE’S ROSE which was racing to their outside was severely
checked as a consequence. Entering the front
straight NO NOT ME contacted the hindquarters of PACIFIC PANTHER resulting in
that runner to be severely checked, blunder and lose ground. The greyhound PACIFIC PANTHER underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

MCP RACING NOVICE 380M Even start.
Approaching the turn out of the back straight ZAMBEZI GIRL, PEARSON PRIDE,
BARCIA’S HUNT and RIFF were all tightened for room and
checked to varying degrees. RHONDA’S DOT which was
trailing was checked as a consequence. |

SCOOPS FISH & CHIPS 5th GRADE 380M FROM THE TAP,
RONRAY BULLET and RIPPING ESCAPE were best to begin. Approaching the turn out
of the back straight OLD MATERIAL was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Rounding the turn out of the back
straight OLD MATERIAL contacted the heels of RIPPING ESCAPE resulting in both
runners to be hampered. Rounding the turn into the
front straight DASHING DIME checked off heels and raced wide as a result. The greyhound DASHING DIME underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and was found to have suffered
cramping at the completion of the event and was stood down for a period
of 10 days. |

NAPIER 5th GRADE 380M FROM THE TAP,
RONRAY BULLET and RIPPING ESCAPE were best to begin. Approaching the turn out
of the back straight OLD MATERIAL was tightened for room and momentarily hampered. Rounding the turn out of the back
straight OLD MATERIAL contacted the heels of RIPPING ESCAPE resulting in both
runners to be hampered. Rounding the turn into the
front straight DASHING DIME checked off heels and raced wide as a result. The greyhound WATCH THE MAGIC underwent a post-race
veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. |

In the back straight MUTLEY ON FRIDAY and LOTS OF TIME collided resulting in
both runners to be severely checked. Approaching the
turn, out of the back straight, ASA EL CHAPPO was tightened
for room and hampered. Rounding the turn into the front straight ASA
ABBANDANDO and MAYWYN WILL WIN collided resulting in both runners to be checked. |

post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were
found. |

SLOW DANCER improved onto the heels of TANGI MION resulting in both runners
to be checked. Through the turn out of the back straight KERRIE’S A MINX
contacted the hindquarters of BLACK MASS resulting in that runner to be checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight SLOW
DANCER collided with BLACK MASS on several occasions resulting in both
runners to be severely checked. |

OUTLAW was slow to begin. Shortly after the start

checked. In the back straight ZIPPING OUTLAW was tightened
for room and checked. Entering the turn out of the back straight GO GWAN was
tightened for room and severely checked . PASS THE
AMMO and ZIPPING OUTLAW which were trailing were
checked as a consequence. |
