Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND Maiden - 380m
INDIE’S CHOICE was very slow to begin. Entering the turn out of the back straight MANILA JET checked off heels. Rounding the turn into the front straight SHAKE THE PAINT contacted the heels of YOU’RE SO VAIN resulting in both runners to be momentarily hampered. In the front straight SHAKE THE PAINT bumped with YOU’RE SO VAIN and became momentarily unbalanced. YOU’RE SO VAIN lost ground as a result of this incident.
INDIE’S CHOICE underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 2 – ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE Grade 5 Pathways - 380m
MAGIC GIZMO was tightened for room at the start and checked. Approaching the turn into the front straight ROAD MONSTER was tightened for room and checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight DREAM WEAVER and BURNER BANT raced wide.
DESTINI TORPEDO underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 3 – PEARL OLSEN Mixed 3/4 Grade - 380m
Even start. Approaching the turn out of the back straight NO NOT ME was tightened for racing room and lost ground. SALUTE THE CLOUD which was trailing collided with that runner resulting in both greyhounds to fall with SALUTE THE CLOUD taking no further competitive part in the event and NO NOT ME failing to finish the event. FANCY A BEER was hampered, and WOOP WOOP KIT and RHONDA’S DOUGIE were severely checked and lost considerable ground as a consequence.
NO NOT ME underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have sustained a triceps tear and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
SALUTE THE CLOUD underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 4 – ROB LAWDORN Grade 5 - 380m
DON’T TELL MUMMA was best to begin. TIN STAR was marginally slow to begin. In the back straight STRONG ENOUGH was tightened for room and hampered. Approaching the turn out of the back straight BEST OF BEZA was tightened for room and checked. Entering the turn out of the back straight KIOWA SHADOW was bumped by another runner and taken out onto PROCLAIMER resulting in both of those runners to be hampered.
Race 5 – RACHEL & EMILY THOMPSON Mixed 3/4 Grade - 380m
BANJO AN’ HENRY was marginally slow to begin. Entering the turn out of the back straight NOT A WORD and DALMATYNSKI were tightened for room, severely checked and lost considerable ground.
Race 6 – TOWNSVILLE VEGAS NIGHTS Grade 5 - 498m
Shortly after the start WILD WISH was tightened for room and checked. Rounding the turn into the back straight DOCKIN’ DAVE was tightened for room and checked. Approaching the turn out of the back straight DOCKIN’ DAVE checked off heels and lost ground. MAYWYN OFTEN which was trailing was hampered as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the front straight LICORICE SHOT was tightened for room, severely checked and lost considerable ground. FOOL PROOF which was trailing was severely checked and lost considerable ground as a consequence.
DOCKIN’ DAVE underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer J. Schafer advised stewards that in light of tonight’s performance DOCKIN’ DAVE would return to racing over 380m in its future engagements.
Race 7 – LOUNDS FRESH SEAFOODS TGRC ANNIVERSARY TROPHY 4/5 Mix Grade - 380m
Even Start. Shortly after the start ENJOY THE SHOW and SILVER WEASEL were tightened for room and checked. Rounding the turn out of the back straight SILVER WEASEL improved onto the heels of OUR STAR resulting that runner to be checked and lose ground. Entering the front straight SMOKEY WISHES and SILVER WEASEL bumped resulting in both runners to be momentarily hampered.
Race 8 – NATHAN RICHARDS Best 8 - 380m
LODGEMENT was declared a late scratching at 8.49pm under veterinary advice when found to be suffering from scours. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
RONRAY FLAME was slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the front straight CZARNY checked off heels and lost ground.
Race 9 – ALL RIG LIFTING & ENGINEERING Grade 5 - 380m
GOOD PEOPLE underwent a pre-race veterinary examination under was declared fit to race.
Even Start. Entering the turn out of the back straight QUEEN OF CAWDOR was tightened for room and checked.
Race 10 – JESSICA PARRY Grade 5 - 380m
SLIDING DOORS was marginally slow to begin. Shortly after the start ARTS was tightened for room and hampered. Approaching the turn out of the back straight WESTMEAD WARRIOR and BULL DANCE were tightened for room and checked. Entering the turn out of the back straight WESTMEAD WARRIOR and SLIDING DOORS collided resulting in those runners to be severely checked. BULL DANCE which was trailing was hampered as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the front straight WESTMEAD WARRIOR was bumped by SLIDING DOORS and forsed out onto BULL DANCE resulting in WESTMEAD WARRIOR and BULL DANCE to be checked and lose ground.
