Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found 7 HEART’S A MESS – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight. 8 VELOCITY PIPER – Checked by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.
Race 4 – TAB | Grade 5 (1) | 380m 1 GO NICKY GO – Checked off another runner in the back straight. Checked across heels after turning out of the back straight. 4 OLSPEN – Tightened for racing room shortly after the start. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near fore pad and was stood down for a period of 10 days. 8 LOVELY MAZ – Slow into stride as the start was effected. Checked off another runner after tuning out of the back straight.
Race 5 – Garrards Horse & Hound | Mixed 3/4 | 380m Stewards questioned trainer B. Belford in relation to his handling of the greyhound HERE COMES PAPPA at the boxes prior to the running of the race. Mr Belford stated that the greyhound attempted to slip its collar and he was forced to restrain the dog, which in the opinion of the Stewards was excessive. Subsequently Mr Belford was charged under the provisions of GAR 86.q for acting in a manner that may be deemed as detrimental or prejudicial to the image of greyhound racing by using, in the Stewards opinion, excessive force whilst restraining the greyhound HERE COMES PAPPA at the boxes prior to the running of the race. Mr Belford pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $100. 2 HERE COMES PAPPA – Slow to begin. 5 OLD MATE KICK – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.
Race 6 – Hickmott Carpentry Heat 1 | 4/5 Grade | 498m 2 WILD WISH – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight. Raced wide into the front straight. 3 SEGREDO – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight. 4 TONGUE IN CHEEK – Bumped another runner on the turn into the back straight. 5 MIDNIGHT MEMPHIS – Bumped another runner on the turn into the back straight. 6 VEGAS TALKS – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight. 7 ROCKET JAX – Raced wide into the front straight. 8 BEAR FEVER – Raced wide into the front straight.
Race 7 – NQ Locksmiths Heat 2 | 4/5 Maiden | 498m Trainer P. Smith was fined $50 under the provisions of GAR 39.3 for presenting RENSHAW AVENUE to race with a weight variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing. Subsequently RENSHAW AVENUE was a late scratching from the race.
The start of the race was delayed 2 minutes due to interstate harness racing.
4 GOING TO POT – Inconvenienced by another runner on the turn into the front straight. 5 VELOCITY LAYLA – Shifted out making muzzle contact with another runner on the turn into the front straight. VELOCITY LAYLA was stood down from racing for 28 days and the completion of a satisfactory trial under the provisions of GAR 69 for marring another runner. 6 MAKE A SOUND – Tightened for racing room on the turn into the back straight. Checked off another runner prior to entering the back straight. 7 TWENTY DOLLARS – Tightened for racing room on the turn into the back straight. Race 8 – Kais Signs | Best 8 | 380m 2 PLYOMETRIC – Slow to begin. Checked by another runner on the turn into the front straight. 3 FININTO SHOW – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight. 4 TRACY’S SHADOW – Shifted out making muzzle contact with another runner on the turn into the front straight. TRACY’S SHADOW was stood down from racing for 28 days and the completion of a satisfactory trial under the provisions of GAR 69 for marring another runner. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days. 5 GAZ’S GIRL – Tightened for racing room in the back straight. 6 NORSE VIKING – Tightened for racing room in the back straight. 7 DALMATYNSKI – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight. Checked off another runner entering the front straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to both hamstring muscles and was stood down for a period of 28 days and a vet certificate prior to racing again. 8 SUPER HARD – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.
Race 9 – Cheapa Auto Spares | Grade 4 | 380m 1 WHITE FERNANDO – Inconvenienced by another runner entering the front straight. 5 WINNING BROKE – Shifted out making muzzle contact with another runner entering the front straight. WINNING BROKE was stood down from racing for 28 days and the completion of a satisfactory trial under the provisions of GAR 69 for marring another runner 6 BENNY BULLDOZER – Lost ground sharply appearing injured on the turn out of the back straight failing to finish the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind hock and was stood down for a period of 28 days and a vet certificate prior to racing again. 7 SILVER WEASEL – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.
Race 10 – Metroll | Grade 5 (2) | 380m 1 LOOMING LARA – Slow to begin. Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight. Raced wide into the front straight. 4 BRIGHT SPRITE – Checked off another runner in the back straight. 8 DREAM AMORE – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.
Race 11 – G.B.D Concrete Services | Grade 5 (1) | 380m 1 WESTMEAD WARRIOR – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight. Checked off another runner entering the front straight. 2 TWICE THE SIZE – Slow to begin. Shifted out on the turn into the front straight forcing another runner wide. 3 JOHNNY DARK – Forced wide on the turn into the front straight.
Race 12 – Lounds Seafoods | Grade 5 (2) | 380m WESTERN LION was a late scratching a 22.08 due to a tongue laceration sustained in the kennels. 1 PRAWN BOAT – Jumped awkwardly and lost considerable ground as the start was effected. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days. 3 WESTERN LION - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a laceration to the tongue and was stood down for a period of 10 days. |
