General:

Stewards inquired into an incident involving trainer D. Prey and Veterinarian Dr D. Viero in the kennel block area after the running of Race 9.

After hearing evidence from trainer D. Prey and Dr Viero stewards issued trainer D. Prey a warning under the provisions of GAR 86 (o) in relation to his conduct which the stewards deemed to be bordering on improper.

Race 1 - TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m

1 Suite Nita – Checked off another runner in the back straight.  Raced wide into the front straight.

2 Treasury – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

4 Conglomerate – Checked off another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight.

5 Crown Wexie – Slow to begin.  Inconvenienced and checked by another runner on the turn into the front straight. 

7 Supido – Checked off another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight.

8 Lucky Pass – Stewards questions the racing manners of the dog, in particular on the turn into the front straight.  Subsequently, Lucky Pass was stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and the completion of a satisfactory trial under the provisions of GAR 69 (1) for marring – second offence.

10 Showgirl Lola (6) – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 2 - TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 2 MAIDEN 380m

2 Winter's Storm – Slow to begin.

5 Highly Rated – Checked off heels on the turn into the front straight.

6 Fredrick Whistle – Lost ground shortly after the start.  Tailed off to finish last.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

10 Zipping Sapphire (4) - Slow to begin.

Race 3 - BURDEKIN VETERINARY SERVICES NOVICE 380m

2 Good Old Sam – Slow to begin.

3 Jump Like One – Checked off another runner in the back straight.

4 Miss Bridget – Checked off another runner in the back straight.

7 Rossi – Checked off another runner shortly after the start.

Race 4 - BOHLE BARN HOTEL MOTEL 5PW 380m

1 Blinding Lights – Slow to begin.

2 Chisel Nibbs – Slow to begin.

4 Yellow Heart – Lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a off front muscle strain and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

6 Prawn Boat – Lost ground in the back straight and tailed off.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained near side body bruising and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Race 5 - TAB GRADE 4 (1) 380m

2 Mali's Millions – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 My Girl Maisy – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Lost ground on the turn into the front straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off-front tendon and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

4 Santorini Miss – Checked off another runner and fell on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

6 Queen Villa – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

7 Tracy's Shadow – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

8 Excitable Jack – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 6 - CHEAPA AUTO SPARES GRADE 4 (2) 380m

6 Georgia Pie – Checked off another runner and fell on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

7 Fireman George – Checked off another runner and fell on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 7 - METROLL 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 MIXED 4/5 498m

1 Peter Thief – Bumped another runner entering the front straight.

2 She's Sassy – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Bumped another runner entering the front straight.

3 Bubbles And Brie - Shifted out to race wide on the turn into the front straight.  Continued to race wide in the front straight inconveniencing another runner.

5 Vegas Talks – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

7 Premier Return – Checked off another runner entering the back straight.

9 Zipping Homer (6) – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Inconvenienced by another runner on the turn into the front straight and in the front straight

10 Loose Lips Jack (8) – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

Race 8 - G.B.D CONCRETE SERVICES 4/5 GRADE HEAT 2 MIXED 4/5 498m

1 Stratford – Tightened for racing room on the turn into the back straight.

2 Major Gibson – Checked off another runner and fell on the turn into the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

3 What Expiry – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

5 Twenty Dollars – Slow to begin.

7 Maggi Rose – Raced wide into the front straight.

Race 9 - MARINA FRESH SEAFOOD BEST 8 380m

1 Dalmatynski – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

2 Tipsy Four – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Tightened for racing room in the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a laceration to the face and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

3 Mali's Missile – Bumped another runner on the turn into the front straight.

8 As Magic Is – Bumped another runner on the turn into the front straight.

Race 10 - MILES KITCHEN REFINISHING GRADE 5 (1) 380m

2 I'm Demanding – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an off wrist strain and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

6 Let's Go Sally – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

7 Flaming Cleo – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.
