General:

Trainer H. Arde was fined $100 under the provisions of GAR 39.3 for presenting Georgia Pie to race with a weight variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing.  Subsequently Georgia Pie was a late scratching from Race 11.

Race 1 - TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m

1 Mali's Here Blue – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Bumped by another runner on the turn into the front straight.  Raced wide in the front straight.

2 Harro's Girl – Checked off another runner shortly after the start.

3 Lights Out Alice – Checked off another runner shortly after the start.  Shifted out and bumped another runner on the turn into the front straight.

4 Censure Motion – Checked off another runner in the back straight.

6 Fancy Kelly – Bumped and checked off another runner in the back straight.

7 Come Fly – Stewards questioned the racing manners of the greyhound, in particular, the turn into the front straight and in the front straight.  Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 69A stood Come Fly down from racing for a period of 28 days and the completion of a satisfactory trial for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.

Race 2 - TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 1000 HEAT 2 MAIDEN 380m

1 Bet You Miss – Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

2 Wolf Hall – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

3 Zulu Allure – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

4 Mali's Charcoal – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

6 Frankie's Vision – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked off another runner, became unbalanced and shifted out bumping another runner on the turn into the front straight.

7 Black Wiggle – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Bumped by another runner and forced wide on the turn into the front straight.

Race 3 - TAB NOVICE 380m

1 What A Warrior – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

4 Gypsy Tenille – Tightened for racing room on the turn out of the back straight.

7 Aston Rupiah – Shifted in bumping another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 4 - EVELYN GOUGH 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 380m

3 Supido – Checked off another runner in the back straight.

4 Velocity Caligo – Raced wide in the front straight.

7 Endless Ability – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

8 Mali's Bullet – Checked by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 5 - ANGLISS MEATS GRADE 4 380m

2 Causing Drama – Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

4 Gnarley Time – Marginally slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

5 Mali's Gonzales – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

6 Muriel Tarantino – Tightened for racing room on the turn into the front straight.

7 Freeney – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 6 - PETER WILSON 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 MIXED 4/5 498m

3 Plain And Simple – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

4 Midnight Frankie – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

5 Copper Canyon – Raced wide in the front straight.

8 Old Station Star – Shifted out to race wide into the front straight.

Race 7 - PETER WILSON 4/5 GRADE HEAT 2 MIXED 4/5 498m

Prior to the “All Clear” being declared, Stewards checked the photo finish.  After viewing the photo finish of the race with the judge, the Judge amended the fourth placing and the “All Clear” was semaphored.  The Judge was reminded of his obligations in relation to the duties required of him.

5 Unusual Suspect – Tightened for racing room on the turn into the back straight.

7 Zone In – Checked off another runner entering the back straight.

Race 8 - TALKING POINT PHOTOGRAPHY BEST 8 380m

2 Salaam – Checked off another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight.

6 Astor – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

8 John Strachin – Raced wide in the front straight.

Race 9 - EVELYN GOUGH 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 380m

1 Eat My Smoke – Improved on to heels after turning out of the back straight, became unbalanced and shifted out bumping another runner.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

2 Zulu Ruby – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 Blackpool Alfie – Bumped by another runner after turning out of the back straight.  Bumped by another runner entering the front straight.

4 Mali's Rocket – Bumped another runner entering the front straight.

5 Fancy Pants – Tightened for racing room on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked from behind by another runner after turning out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a strain to the off front muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

2 Mali's Whitey – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 Happy Rumble – Sow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Raced wide in the front straight.

4 Squamish – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight. 

5 Burning Up – Bumped and checked by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

6 Crackerjack Joey – Shifted in bumping another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

7 Blinding Lights – Checked off another runner in the back straight.

9 Miss Rascal (1) – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

5 Diesel's Legacy – Bumped another runner in the back straight.

6 Riding Hood – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.
