Saturday 12 March 2022

Track: Good

Weather: Fine

Stewards Panel: T. Flymen (Chairman), K. Dean

General: After the meeting on Tuesday the 8th of March, trainer Mr Bradley Belford identified that the greyhound Semper was lame when removed from his racing kennel. Semper was then administered pain relief by the on-course veterinarian and taken to Burdekin Veterinary Services the following day for further assessment. X-rays revealed a fracture to the greyhounds off fore radius. Semper then underwent surgery successfully on Wednesday. Trainer Brad Belford has notified Stewards that the greyhound will be retired from racing and will be rehomed to one of the part owner’s properties, once Semper has finished his recovery from surgery.
