General: After the running of Race 3 the lure driver reported that there was no power to the lure when attempting to move the lure into position for the preview of Race 4. Stewards delayed the running of Race 4 to allow time to fix the electrical issue. After moving the starting times back three race time slots, the issue with the power to the lure was unable to be resolved, therefore Stewards abandoned Races 4-10.

 

 

Race 1 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICE MAIDEN 380m

 

4 Mister Rambutan – Very slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of another runner shortly after the start and lost forward momentum.

 

5 Zafar Bale – Tightened for racing room shortly after the start and was checked. Finished the race tailed off last. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer Ms Bobbie-Jean Chaffey advised Stewards she would consider Zafar Bale’s racing future after today’s performance.

 

6 Stolen Gold – Checked off the heels of another runner and raced wide rounding the first turn.

 

7 Hidden Torpedo – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn.

 

 

Race 2 - SHOWTIME LODGE @ CHURCHABLE NOVICE 380m

 

1 I'm A Dancer – Improved onto the heels of another runner approaching the home turn and was severely checked losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

2 Dressed To Kill – Raced wide rounding the home turn and throughout the remainder of the race.

 

5 Hara's Houdini – Dragged down by another runner approaching the home turn and fell taking no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

9 Yellow Car (7) – Clipped on the heels by the fallen runner approaching the home turn and was checked.

 

 

Race 3 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MIXED 4/5 380m

 

1 Spike The Punch – Slow to begin.

 

2 Never Cry – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.

 

5 Jilliby Tina – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

 

6 Flat Tyre – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked losing ground.
