General: Stewards opened an inquiry into an alleged incident between licensed trainers Mr Peter Milani and Ms Greta Thomson at the Townsville Greyhound Club on 3^rd of February 2023. After taking submissions from Ms Thomson and Mr Milani, Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date to be fixed.

Race 1 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICE MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m

2 Skedaddle Locke – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

6 Sunshine Girl – Slow to begin. Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn.

7 Chinotto Girl – Raced wide rounding the first turn through to the home straight.

Race 2 - SHOWTIME LODGE @ CHURCHABLE MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 380m

1 Bogie Keys – Marginally slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

3 Aroona Belle – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

7 Red Car – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start and lost ground.

8 Looney Shrimp – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and was checked. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 3 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOVICE 380m

1 I'm A Dancer – Checked off the heels of another runner leaving the first turn.

2 Jingalong Lotte – Tightened for racing room shortly after the start and was checked losing ground.

6 Hidden Torpedo – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

9 Big Ram (5) – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

1 Tackleberry – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

3 No Regrets – Held up for clear racing room rounding the first turn.

4 Good Boy Lloyd – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

4 Iron Lad – Held up for clear racing room rounding the turn off the back straight.

5 Lucius Malfoy – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

7 Just Too Fancy – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

Race 8 - CLEVELAND BAY SEAFOOD BEST 8 380m

3 Blackpool Coco – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start. Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the home turn.

5 Young Rob – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

7 Free At Night – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

8 Jackie Chiles – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 9 - KAREN OLSEN 5PW 380m

3 Fully Blessed – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

4 Ponte Santangelo – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

5 Dennis Denuto – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

6 Counter Advance – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground. Checked off the heels of another runner in the home straight.

7 Bonnie Goes Bang – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 10 - KAREN OLSEN 5PW 380m

1 Blazing Infrared – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn. Raced wide in the home straight.

3 All Ford – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked.

6 Polarizer – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

7 Zena Arena – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

9 Ryan's Pick (5) – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

Race 11 - PETER JEPSON MEDIA SERVICES GRADE 5 (1) 380m

1 Starlight Belle – Slow to begin. Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and contacted the inside running rail losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the near foreleg and tail and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

2 Copper Canyon – Checked by another runner and commenced to weaken approaching the first turn losing considerable ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer Mr Robert Lound advised Stewards that he will consider the racing future of Copper Canyon after today’s performance.

4 All Up – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

5 Piper's Band – Shifted out and bumped with another runner rounding the home turn. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Heath Ardle regarding Piper’s Band’s racing manners rounding the home turn. Mr Ardle stated that the greyhound sustained a carpal injury early in its career and always races wide around turns. After reviewing the video footage, Stewards couldn’t be comfortably satisfied that Piper’s Band had contravened any rule and therefore took no further action.

6 Memory Lane – Slow to begin.

7 Flat Tyre – Bumped by another runner and forced to race wide rounding the home turn.

Race 12 - HICKORY INDUSTRIES GRADE 5 (2) 380m

1 Conor Pass – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

2 Barefoot Di – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

6 Spike The Punch – Slow to begin.

7 Senor Brumby – Checked off heels shortly after the start and became unbalanced almost falling. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.
