General: During the 3 weeks break in racing at the Townsville Greyhound Club, remedial works were performed on the racing surface which included a significant amount of additional loam added throughout the entire track. Due to the additional loam and the power harrowing of the surface, race times may be slower than normal for tonight’s meeting.  

Race 1 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICE MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m

1 Complex Miss – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

4 Go Mary Go – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

5 Sandy's Heart – Slow to begin.

7 Daddy's Target – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 2 - HUNNY POT NQ MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 380m

1 Moonlit Lake – Marginally slow to begin.

2 Daddy's Money – Very slow to begin.

3 Prinny – Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the first turn. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

5 No Such Thing – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

7 Denim – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 3 - CLEVELAND BAY SEAFOOD NOVICE 380m

2 Deck Franky – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

4 Big As Cash – Severely checked rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground, failing to complete the course. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the nearside wrist and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

5 Canya Revamp – Went up with the lids at the start and as a result was slow to begin. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed a laceration to the tail and was stood down from racing for 10 days.

7 Dave Ricciardo – Slow to begin.

8 Etta – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 4 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MIXED 3/4 380m

1 Red Buzz – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked contacting the inside running rail. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

2 Free At Night – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start and lost ground.

4 Baguette – Slow to begin.

Race 5 - PETER JEPSON MEDIA SERVICES GRADE 5 (1) 498m

2 Mali's Whitey – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight and lost ground.

5 Saint Remi – Checked off the heels of another runner shortly after the start.

7 Winlock Punky – Checked off the heels of another runner leaving the first turn and lost ground.

Race 6 - TAB GRADE 5 (2) 498m

4 Calibration – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

5 Clock Watcher – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

6 Red Ricciardo – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

7 Ryan's Pick – Checked off the heels of another runner in the back straight.

8 Waylin Bale – Very slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 7 - HICKORY INDUSTRIES BEST 8 380m

1 Federal Phantom – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

2 Eyes On Meg – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn.

5 Billy Buttons – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

8 Good Odds Rascal – Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn and was checked losing forward momentum.

2 Phoenix Luck – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

6 Redemption Day – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room approaching the home turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

8 Bonnie Goes Bang – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the home turn.

Race 9 - MAGIC CARPET CLEANING GRADE 4 (1) 380m

1 Spitfire Rhodes – Checked off the heels of another runner leaving the first turn and lost ground.

2 Night Buttons – Checked off the heels of another runner leaving the first turn and lost ground.

4 Daicos Dynasty – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground.

Race 10 - ALL RIG LIFTING & ENGINEERING GRADE 4 (2) 380m

2 Where's The Ship – Slow to begin.
