Race 2 - HUNNY POT NQ MAIDEN (2) 380m

9 Stolen Gold (7) – Checked shortly after the start. Shifted inwards and turned its head inwards towards another runner in the home straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards’ spoke to trainer J. Reid regarding the racing manners of Stolen Gold, in particular the actions of the greyhound in the home straight. After reviewing the available race replays, Stewards and Mr Reid were in agreeance that the greyhound did not pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight, subsequently Stewards invoked GAR124(1) Failure to Pursue and Stolen Gold was stood down from racing for 28 days at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory trial prior to resuming racing.

Race 3 - CLEVELAND BAY SEAFOOD NOVICE 380m

1 Key Piece – Checked in the back straight. 

2 Boots On – Checked in the back straight. 

4 Three Tries – Checked shortly after the start.

5 Menari – Checked shortly after the start. Checked in the back straight. 

6 Panama Lad – Checked shortly after the start.

7 Big As Cash – Checked shortly after the start. Checked rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground when easing, failing the finish the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer M. Partland regarding the racing actions of Big As Cash, in particular the greyhounds actions rounding and exiting the first turn. After reviewing the available race replays, Stewards and Mr Partland were in agreeance that the greyhound did not pursue the lure with due commitment while rounding the first turn, subsequently Stewards invoked GAR 124(1) Failure to Pursue and Big As Cash was stood down from racing for 28 days at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory trial prior to resuming racing.
