Race 1 - PETER JEPSON MEDIA SERVICES MAIDEN (1) 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 2 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MAIDEN (2) 380m

 

1 Balt’s Shadow – Severely checked rounding the first turn, becoming unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

5 Moonlit Dawn – Late scratching on 11/08 pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.

 

8 Groovy Shrimp – Entering the home straight, appeared to turn its head outwards towards another runner on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to kennel representative Ms. J. Wooler regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Failure to Pursue (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. Ms Wooler stated that the kennel intends to retire Groovy Shrimp after today’s race.

 

 

Race 3 - SHOWTIME LODGE @ CHURCHABLE NOVICE 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 4 - MAGIC CARPET CLEANING GRADE 5 (1) 380m

 

9 Train Station (5) – Late scratching on 11/08 pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.

 

 

Race 5 - SKIPS TRANSPORT MIXED 3/4 380m

 

4 Wild William – (Beaten favourite) Slipped on the mat exiting the starting boxes. Checked shortly after the start.

 

 

Race 6 -TAB BEST 8 380m

 

4 Flash Fever – Checked and fell in the home straight, failing to complete the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 7 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICE 0-4 WINS 498m
