Race 1 - PETER JEPSON MEDIA SERVICES MAIDEN 380m

 

1 Go Mary Go – Turned its head outwards towards another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms Bobbie-Jean Chaffey regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue 1st offence - 28 day stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

6 Angel’s Rage – (Beaten favourite) Checked rounding the first turn and lost ground.

 

Race 2 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOVICE (1) 380m

 

4 Gatting Ball – (Beaten favourite) Checked rounding the first turn and lost ground.

 

Race 3 - SHOWTIME LODGE @ CHURCHABLE NOVICE (2) 380m

Race 5 - SKIPS TRANSPORT 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 498m

 

2 Wild William – Dragged down by another runner approaching the home turn losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the nearside hind toe and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. 

 

4 Tessa Poppy – Improved onto the heels of another runner in the back straight and fell taking no further competitive part in the race. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

Race 6 -TAB 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 498m

 

9 Lady Ricciardo – Visibly eased when leaving the first turn losing considerable ground from the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr Brad Belford regarding the greyhound’s racing manners leaving the first turn. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue 1st offence - 28 day stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 7 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICE 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 498m

Race 8 - HICKORY INDUSTRIES GRADE 4 380m

 

5 Burn Rate – (Beaten favourite) Checked rounding the first turn and lost ground.

 

7 Danyo’s Clint – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.
