After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to pursue (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

2 Shian Kelly – Appeared to turn its head outwards towards another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside triceps injury, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainers representative Mr. G. Pickard regarding the greyhounds’ racing manners in the home straight. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

7 Not A Shame – (Beaten favourite) Checked shortly after the start. Raced in restricted room rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. M. Partland regarding the greyhound’s performance, Mr. Partland stated that he was disappointed with the run today but believed the softer racing surface and unfavourable box draw contributed to the greyhound’s performance, further stating that he did not support the greyhound in wagering today. Stewards noted the explanation.

After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 10 days stand down and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
